Mid-South Peace and Justice Center
Founded in 1982, the non-profit organization works with communities to achieve social justice on a variety of issues. The MPJC educates individuals and communities, organizes outreach programs and mobilizes non-violent movements. The MPJC is home to several of the outreach programs that are listed below.

Women In Black
Women In Black is a worldwide women's movement which protests the effects of war on women and their families. Silent vigils occur weekly, each Wednesday at noon on the front steps of the First Congregational Church.

Free HIV Testing
“MGLCC has partnered with local reproductive health and HIV prevention agencies to provide HIV testing and safer sex education. Every Wednesday night at MGLCC from 6-9pm HIV testers and counselors are on hand to give free, rapid HIV tests. Each test takes 20 minutes, consists of a painless oral swab (no blood!), and comes with a short HIV prevention counseling session.
