A "Bonafide" First Time

Dozens of bands and musicians played the Cooper-Young Festival. Among the five bands that took the Memphis Drum Shop stage was Bonafide. Bonafide is a band of trombone and horn players that chose a Latin feel for their first time playing at the festival. They also had a stand-in vocalist, Marcela Pinilla, who is actually a part of the band, Orquesta Caliente. I got a chance to talk with the band leader, Howard Lamb, immediately after their set.
