Market Benefits Cooper-Young Community
by Leslie Jennings/MicroMemphis Reporter
Are you looking for market in the heart of the Cooper Young Community?
The Cooper Young Community Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8am-1pm and is located in the parking lot of the First Congregational Church.
It provides fresh produce meats, cheeses, and baked goods.
“Our products are Shea butter based and are a natural way to heal your skin”, said Sicley Kuffour, owner of Touch of Essence Mobile Spa and Products.
Shea butter products have all natural oils and are not made of chemicals that clog the pours.
“We work here because eating healthy comes along with the process of healing the skin, Kuffour added.
The Farmers Market brings fresh, healthy foods to a central location that is within walking distance of the Cooper Young Community.
It also participates in the food stamp program in which the market matches the first $10.00 of whatever you buy.
“It helps people of all incomes buy fresh produce and that’s why I am a weekly customer," said Nathan Jones.
Jones says, “It’s not just a market, it's a wholesome place that enhances our quality of life.”
