The servers at Alchemy have an unusual but chic dress code -  unique, handcrafted necklaces and all-black attire.

The idea stemmed from co-owner, Shantih Smythe.

"I wanted to have this all black palate with a pop of color as the uniforms for the servers," said Shantih Smythe.

Smythe said she contacted image consultant, Augusta Campbell, for help with her idea of what exactly this pop of color could be.

Campbell then  found local jewelry designers, Mary Taylor  and MiMi Danosky, who make up the jewelry line, Brave Design.

Brave Design consists of beaded necklaces, charmed chains, and many more fabulous accessories..

"The servers are to leave the neck pieces here at the restaurant and when they come in they're to complete their uniform with the necklaces," said Smythe.

Smythe also said she plans on someday having the necklaces sold at the restaurant with the proceeds going toward a food-based charity, such as MIFA.

You don't have to work at Alchemy to get these jewels - the line is sold at James Davis and at Spruce.
