The Memphis Drum Shop is located at the corner of South Cooper and Nelson Avenue. Musicians of all ages come to get sticks, drum sets, cymbals, gongs, and anything else related to drums.

Jim Pettit, the store's owner, says there was a need for a specialty drum store in the Memphis area. The store offers six show rooms of every type of drum imaginable.

Many of the Cooper-Young residents who play drums have become regulars to the store; one being Carlos Sargent. See an exclusive interview with Sargent as he talks about how he started playing and how the feels about the shop.
