Soul Fish Cafe: Fifth Year Anniversary in Cooper Young

By Jessie Wilks/MicroMemphis reporter

Soul Fish Cafe just celebrated it's 5th birthday in Cooper-Young. The catfish eatery opened its doors for the first time in March of 2006. The featured video explains the restaurant's success story, and what they're doing to continuously win awards and remain in business.

Ben McClean, General Manager of Soul Fish Cafe in  Cooper Young and and its second location in Germantown, got his start waiting tables at Huey's, and eventually climbed the managerial ladder to where he is now.

The busiest day of the year for the Midtown site is the
Cooper-Young Festival.  Even though some blame the bad economy for the closings of other C-Y restaurants such as Blue Fish, Grace, and Dish, McLean says his business has not been affected.
